Once you've installed Shopfitter 4 and confirmed it's working correctly by opening the demo shop please shut down Shopfitter 4.

• Open two Windows Explorer windows as follows:
• Window 1 - C:\Program Files\Shopfitter 3\Shops You should see a folder with the name of your site here.
• Window 2 - C:\Program Files\ShopFitter\ShopFitter 4\shops
• Copy your shop folder in Window 1 and paste it into Window 2 - there should be two folders, Demo Shop and 'Your Shop'
• You can now close Window 1 and all the following steps will be in Window 2
• Next, open the shop folder and drag the images folder into the dat folder
• Open the dat folder and find the file that starts with sh - it will be similar to shaa022.xml Note this filename
• Then navigate to C:\Program Files\ShopFitter\ShopFitter 4\config and open the persist.xml file in Notepad - (right click on the persist file and select 'Open With' then select Notepad) You can use an html editor if you have one.
• Look for the line that says <shop>..\Shops\Demo Shop\dat\shab296.xml</shop> - Highlight and copy this line
• Place your cursor at the end of this line, that is after the </shop> and press return
• Use the space bar to align the cursor with the start of the line above and paste the line you copied
• Next, alter the text in the code so that 'Demo Shop' is replaced with the name of your shop folder and also alter the shab296.xml (or similar) to the name of the file you noted before.
• The two lines should look similar to the following:

   <shop>..\Shops\Demo Shop\dat\shab296.xml</shop>
   <shop>..\Shops\'Your Shop Name'\dat\'shaa022'.xml</shop>

• Save the persist.xml file you've edited in Notepad by selecting 'Save' from the File menu
• You can now open Shopfitter 4 and select your shop to open.

You may get error messages when you open the shop, just click 'OK' until the pop up messages stop, the application is updating some of the xml code.

Once your shop is open click on the gold coloured Shopfitter Trolley icon in the top left, then select 'Update to Latest Version' from the Validate Data option. Only use the price fix update if all the prices in your shop are incorrect. The prices may be imported as 200.00 instead of 20.00, for example, in which case Validate Data using the 'With Price Fix' option.

You MUST choose a theme and set the tax/VAT before you can publish.

Remember to check all your prices before uploading your Shopfitter 4 site.
