Shopfitter creates the navigation and structure of your website automatically, but think about what information you need to input before you start will give you a real head start and avoid the need for revisiting everything later.
Here's a list of what you should consider:
Required:
- Product title/name
- Category the product is a member of (more than one is permissible, )
- Introductory description (one sentence)
- Further detailed description (not required but strongly recommended)
- Product images (1 main, 2 supporting)
- Price
- Options (including price adjustment, plus or minus the base price)
- Search terms associated with the product
Additional data that can be added if required:
- Product ID number/SKU
- Related products
- Extra text and image detail
- Product delivery variables; e.g. weight, individual price etc
General information:
- Delivery rules; i.e. zone, price per item/order etc.
- Text for:
- About Us page,
- Contact Us page,
- Terms of Sale,
- Refund/Returns Policy
- Home page
- Other pages if required
- VAT/Tax status and registration number, if applicable
- Registered Office details and Company Number
- Payment method for sales; e.g. Cards taken, On Account etc.
- Online payment system required; i.e. Card details encryption for CNP transactions, PayPal, Google Checkout or other Payment Gateway such as Protx, WorldPay etc.
