[edit] Adding Options
There are 2 main types of options in shopfitter
- shop wide main options
- product options
Main options - these are in the Options tab, they can be used in any product, and with a new shop there are 2 examples:
- Size - Large, Medium, Small.
Large has a price adjustment of +1.00, Medium no adjustment, Small -1.00 adjustment from the product price.
- Color - Black, White, Red etc.
All with zero adjustment - so will be charged at product price.
- To create a new Option click the left 'Add' button to add a new option, then use the right 'Add' button to enter the option set e.g. Gold left / Gold right etc.
- Hints if your option has a simple price adjustment, also add the cost into the option set name (see image example +£40), this will then show the correct price in the option drop-down menu, so people using your site will get instant price feedback, instead of having to go to the cart to see any option price adjustments. If you are using more than 1 option set you will have to display the adjustment price (i.e. +£40), if you have only 1 option the full price can be displayed (i.e. £340).
Product options - in Product options tab - these are in the Product - Options tab, and only apply to that particular product.
- Product options can be added choosing the 'Custom option selection' and then adding a name in the 'option name' box. Then add the option set choices and any price adjustments, these can be reordered using the blue arrow buttons.
- Hints If you have made a main shop option (in example flower container) you can select this first - then selection custom and a new option based on 'flower container' will be created that is only for the product you are editing, this can then be modified for that 1 product.
