The 'Main' tab screen has all the basic default settings for you shop.

Name label The name of your shop.

Currency: Here you set the currency of your shop from the dropdown list. The full list of currencies Shopfitter 4 supports can be seen on the currencies page.




Web Address: Your site url including http:// - this is used to build the google sitemap.

Meta Data: Here you set the Meta data for you shop - vital for improving SEO (search engine optimisation).

  • Title - The Title tag of your website - the single most important item for SEO, you can have up to 55 characters (more are not displayed in some browsers. Try to choose a title that is packed with search terms but still makes sense.
  • Description - The Description tag of your website - important again for SEO, you can have upto approx 150 characters displayed in the Google description in a search, again try to write a short sentence describing your shop/services using important search words.
  • Keywords - The keywords tag of your website - not as important for SEO as it once was, but very useful for adding common spelling mistakes that might be used in searches - this information is not displayed.


Image defaults: The thumbnail image size for the shop category pages, default setting 100 pixels wide, you can set this default to control width or height.

Default Image Path: (3 dots button) browse to you master images folder, it is usually best to make a web ready master images folder in your shop folder so that you can keep all your originals in one easy to find place. You will have to use a photo editing program to make your images the correct size for web use, shopfitter will only make the category thumbnail images.


Tax Items: set the shop default tax rate, if you want to set VAT inclusive add a vat rate of 0 and set this as the default, if you do not have a default set your shop will have an error and not publish.
