This is ticked as default and will show a popup confirming your purchase.

This will give you the choice to continue or go to the cart page (as photo 1) or show an error message and ask you to purchase again if you have not selected an option (as photo 2).

Because this popup allows your customers to choose whether they continue shopping or proceeed to the cart page I would leave this ticked.
