Adding categories to your shop

Before you can add any products to the shop you will need to create categories. To do this click on Shop items in the left panel under Info pages and then click the new category button at the top of that list. A blank category will appear in the left list, use the blue field to give it a name.

You can create as many sub categories as you like, however we recommend you dont have too many or even none at all as the customer may have to click several times to get to the product they wish to purchase. This is also more search engine friendly.

Category tabs To get to these options double click on the category you wish to edit, you will then see the main tab.

Main In the main tab there are title, description and keyword fields for entering Meta Data. You can choose to exclude the whole category and the products within it from publish. All the products in the category will be listed with the product name, price, default quantity, image name and if the product is excluded.

Intro Text Any text you add here will appear under the main category title, above the first product.

Image By clicking on the browse button you can select an image for a sub category. In the alternative text field enter a suitable name for the image used.

Hotspots Hotspots are used for information which applies to all of the products in that category. Information in Hotspot 1 will appear above the first product, hotspot 2 will appear under the last product in the category.
